"Why save these Greyhounds"?
No other breed of dog is abused in the way greyhounds are.Thousands of greyhounds are euthanised every year because they
aren't fast enough anymore.
Methods of "euthanasia" include the following:starvation,
injection with household cleaners,strangulation,drowning,
clubbing,electrocution,medical experimentation,etc...
1/3 of greyhound puppies
are killed within the first
year because
they are not deemed as good racers.
These incredibly intelligent,
mild mannered and athletic
dogs are kept in kennels just big
enough for them to fit
into for 22 hours a day.
If those reasons aren't good enough
for some of the apathetic crowd
then thank goodness for those of
you willing
to help in some way.
Hi Speed Hounds of Winnipeg will once again be headed south to try and save as many greyhounds as we can find homes for.There is a track closing at the end of December and roughly 1000 beautiful greyhound lives are at stake.If you are able to either foster a dog or are interested

Hi Speed Hounds is a registered non-profit charity and we would also be very thankful for any financial contributions,dog beds,large kennels,toys etc...A tax receipt can be issued for your charitable donation.
This track closure means our biggest undertaking ever to rescue as many greyhounds as we can in a very short space of time.
Hi Speed Hounds ultimate goal is to find permanent loving homes for all its rescued Greyhounds.We follow certain guidelines:
1:an adoption fee to cover veterinarian costs including dental and spay /neuter,shots
2: a home inspection to insure all dogs have a proper living environment.
3: an adoption contract to protect both greyhound and potential new adopter.
