Stone ware Dundee marmalade jar from James Keiller & Son Ltd. made in Great Britain
It is in good condition
James Keiller & Sons Dundee Marmalade can be traced back to over two hundred year history.
The start of the company began in 1700, when James Keiller took advantage of a Spanish ship taking refuge from a winter storm in Dundee harbour carrying a large cargo of Seville oranges. He bought in large quantity and very cheaply, but found that they were too bitter to sell. He instead added copious amounts of sugar to them to make marmalade.
These pots look fabulous on display or used to hold kitchen utensils.
