This fine ball is from the 1930/40's , and is an original Spalding J5-V professional Intercollegiate game ball ~ used by the top colleges in the U.S. at that time . The ball has it's original bladder , which is still holding good pressure . The leather lacing is tight and firm , surrounded by the traditional Spalding stitch pattern ., and below that the circular Spalding Logo stating the ball to be of the official Intercollegiate type . The words 'Lock Stitched ' are stamped below the Logo to the right , which might well denote actual manufacturing years . The leather panels above and below the lacing have faint marks probably of the winning team of that day ~ or the colleges involved , or even the Player of the day name . Overall the ball is in excellent condition for it's 80 years plus , and you will find these types hard to find these days . On various Football memorablia auctions they go in a hurry for sometimes crazy prices it seems . This ball is being offered for the reasonable price of $ 100 , plus shipping charges from British Columbia . Please call Victoria at 250-382-8185 if interested , or reply here . Thank you .
